The Stone County Sheriff's Office provides Civil Process Services throughout Stone County. The papers are receipted upon arrival, and service is provided by Cpl. Kyle Stults, and additional Stone County Deputies as caseload demands. Civil Process hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:00PM. 

Effective February 1, 2025, the Stone County Sheriff's Office Civil Process Unit updated our service fees in accordance with House Bill No. 2224 and mileage fee rates in accordance with the 2025 IRS Standard Mileage Rates.  Below is a new chart reflecting the change in mileage fees and service fees. Fees are figured per person served plus mileage.  If two people are served at the same address, mileage will only be charged once.

It is the responsibility of the person or persons requesting service to supply the Sheriff's Office with an original or certified copy of the papers to be served as well as sufficient copies for the parties to be served.  SCSO requires that the person requesting service provide the most accurate to knowledge address where service may be made with no PO Boxes.  Stone County has no Farm Roads in its jurisdiction.  All payments must be received before the paper service is completed and sent out for service.  Acceptable forms of payment are via check, money orders, credit card by phone or exact change at the Sheriff's Office.
