Producing a Controlled Substance, Marijuana

Stone County Deputies Find Indoor Grow

On Saturday, August 08th, 2009, Stone County Deputies got an anonymous tip of marijuana being grown on a deck at a condo in Notch Mo. Deputies went to the Notch Condos and walked around the backside of one of the complexes and did observe several marijuana plants on one of the rear deck.

Deputies then made contact with the occupants of the residence and got permission search and verify the plants were marijuana. During the search of the residence deputies found other items that tied into the cultivation and use of marijuana. On the rear deck were six marijuana plants from approximately 6" in height to 24" in height growing in pots.

The occupants, 18 yr old Leslie Weldon Heriford and 18 yr old Kevin Mackenzie Peters, both of Branson West, were taken to the Stone County Jail where they were charged a Class B Felony of Producing a Controlled Substance, Marijuana. Their bond was set at $25,000.00 cash only. Both individuals are currently still incarcerated at the Stone County Jail.
