It has been brought to the attention of the Stone County Sheriff's Office that there are several collection jars being placed in local convenience stores throughout Stone County soliciting monies for a K-9 search and rescue.

The individual that is soliciting funds is in no way affiliated with a Stone County Sheriff's Office or the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District. He has presented business cards stating that he is "911 Activated" which is also a false statement.

"In the event that Stone County has the need for Search and Rescue K-9s, I have several individuals to contact that will respond at anytime day or night with K-9s that have gone through extensive training and are certified".

I would caution anyone considering making a contribution to this individual.
