On July 10, 2010 Stone County Deputies conducted two separate DWI Sobriety checkpoints in Stone County. The first checkpoint was set up in Crane on the North side of town. It was operational from 8:00pm until 10:00pm. There were approximately 100 motor vehicles that passed through the checkpoint. There was one Uniform Citation written for Driving While Revoked.

The second checkpoint was set up at the intersections of State Highway K and State Highway M in Stone County. It was operational from 11:00pm on July 10 until 1:00am on July 11, 2010. There were approximately 80 motor vehicles that passed through this checkpoint. There was one arrest made for Driving While Intoxicated, Possession of 35 grams or less of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Although there were not many arrests made, the deputies working the checkpoints received many compliments from the Stone County citizens that passed through who stated they were glad to see the checkpoints being conducted in the Northern part of Stone County. There were 12 Stone County Deputies that participated in the checkpoints.
