On May 1, 2010, members of the Crane High School Trap and Skeet Team traveled to Booneville, Mo to compete in the Missouri Sheriffs' Association, "John Dennis Scholarship Fund", Shoot For The Stars, sporting clay event.

This event is to raise money for scholarship funds that are awarded to students throughout the state of Missouri who are planning on pursuing a career in law enforcement.

The Crane High School team, which was sponsored by the Stone County Sheriff's Office, consisted of their shooting coach, John Hash, Junior, Mason Cook and Sophomore, Kyle Roder. The team competed in the adult division, and at the end of the day, they were awarded 1st Place in the Three-Person Team event.

John also took home top honors in the Long Shot event.
