Marijuana Grow

On August 27th, 2015, Deputies from the Stone County Sheriff's Office were conducting surveillance at a marijuana grow on an abandon property in the North part of Stone County.  While the Deputies were concealed in woods near the plants, they observed a white Dodge pickup occupied by two white males pull into the area.  The occupants exited the vehicle and began to tend to the marijuana plants.  The Deputies made contact with the individuals and attempted to apprehend them.  One male was apprehended and the other fled into the woods.  After an extended search of the area the second male was not located.

Arrested at the scene was Bobby Lee Franklin, a 50 yr old white male from Hootentown who had recently moved to the Springfield area.  

The individual who fled the scene was identified as Carl Edward Franklin, a 55 yr old male from Hootentown who had also recently moved to the Springfield area. 

Deputies removed approximately 16 marijuana plants which were planted in buckets from the location. 

On August 28th, 2015, the Stone County Prosecutor filed the following charge on each subject: 

Dist/Del/Man/Produce a Controlled Substance, RSMO 195.211,  a Class B Felony, bond at $25,000 cash only. 

Bobby Franklin remains incarcerated at the Stone County Jail.

If you know the whereabouts of Carl Franklin, Stone County Officials urge you to contact 911.  Carl is described as a white male, approximately 5'8", 150 lbs with short partially gray hair.
