Home Invasion in Stone County

On February 3rd, 2014, at approximately 0230 hrs, Stone County Deputies were dispatched to 1200 Everest Road, Galena, Mo, a location in Stone County, to the report of a burglary in progress. When Deputies arrived on scene, they spoke to a juvenile female who was staying at the residence.
The female, stated she was alone in her bedroom when she was awakened by the sound of someone outside. She stated she heard someone yell and then heard glass breaking. After the glass broke, she called her brother to come over and assist her and then called 911. She stated could hear individuals moving around inside the house before her brother arrived. When her brother arrived on scene, he went around the rear of the residence and saw the rear door had been forced open and observed two men running away. Gunshots were fired between the brother and the suspects and then the suspects fled into the woods.
A blue Concorde which was parked in front of the residence and was detained by the brother until law enforcement arrived. The female in the vehicle stated to Deputies she was there with two males who had come and to speak to the individual who lived there. The female was arrested by the deputies and transported to the Stone County.
After an extensive search, the two males were apprehended walking in the area later in the morning.
The Sheriff’s Department has detained the three individuals and has submitted PC Statements to the prosecutor for charges. Charges are expected to be issued late tonight or early tomorrow. A follow up release will be given at that time.
