Press Release Archie A. Gomez

On Saturday, November 30^th, 2013, Deputies from Stone County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a sobriety check point at the Dewey Short Visitors Center on Hwy 265.  A vehicle driven by Archie A. Gomez drove through the checkpoint.  Deputies made contact with the Mr. Gomez and he admitted he had been drinking earlier that evening.  Deputies then had him exit the vehicle and conduct some field sobriety tests.  After the tests were conducted, Deputies asked permission to search his vehicle for anything that could be considered illegal.  He consented and during the search they located photographs which were determined to be child pornography.  On Sunday, December 1^st, Archie A. Gomez, a 68 yr old white male from Branson, Mo., was charged with Class C Felony Possession of Child Pornography and his bond was set at $50,000.00 Cash or Surety.  Mr. Gomez is still currently incarcerated in the Stone County Jail.
