Arrest made for Possession of Child Pornorgraphy

On Thursday, August 30th, Detectives from Stone County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence on DD Highway in Stone County. The search warrant stemmed from an Internet Task Force Detective out of Nixa, Mo. The Detective located a computer that was sharing Child Sexual Abuse Photos on line and had actually downloaded some of files to his forensic computer in Nixa. After internet subpoenas were issued and the residence located, Stone County Detectives applied for and received a search warrant for the residence in Stone County to locate the computer or computers sharing the files and copies of the images that were downloaded.
At the search warrant, the detectives, using specialized forensic on-scene examination software, located the images that were downloaded in Nixa on a lap top computer owned by Cassidy Michael Waghorn. Mr. Waghorn was not present, but was later located in the Branson West Area. He was arrested and taken to Stone County where he admitted the images were his that he had downloaded them from the internet. The computers were seized and taken to Stone County where a full Forensic Exam can be performed on them.
On Friday, the prosecuting attorney filed the following charges:
Cassidy Michael Waghorn
22 yr old male from Reeds Spring
Class B Felony Possession of Child Pornography RSMO 573.037
His bond was set at $75,000.00 cash or surety and he remains incarcerated at the Stone County Jail in Galena.
Further charges could still be filed in Christian County after the Nixa Detective reviews the case file from Stone County.
