News Release
Saturday evening at approximately 11:00 PM, a Stone County Deputy stopped a vehicle that was driving in a suspicious nature. When the deputy activated the emergency lights on his patrol car, the vehicle pulled into the driveway of 607 North Hemphill, Crane, MO.
When the deputy approached the driver of the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the inside of the vehicle. In checking the occupants of the vehicle, it was found that one of the occupants, a Thomas Barnett, white, male, dob 5-4-85 of Brookline, MO had a municipal warrant out of Crane, MO.
As the deputy was making the arrest, two individuals from the Hemphill residence became loud and aggressive in an attempt to keep the deputy from making the arrest. Those two individuals were arrested for interfering with an arrest, and resisting arrest. Also a female from the residence who was watching the incident, walked up behind one of the deputies and struck the deputy in the back of the head. She was then arrested for Assaulting a Law Enforcement Officer.
A total of five individuals were arrested regarding this incident.

Brittany Nichole Barnett, dob 05/11/1988, of Brookline, MO – Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer
All subjects have been released and are no longer being held at the Stone County Jail.
